Lightronics develops, manufactures and sells light modules for the professional market, in particular street lighting, wall and ceiling lighting for housing cooperatives, and industrial lighting. In 2008, together with the management and private equity house De Hoge Dennen, i4hi acquired Lightronics and took on an executive board role focused on improvement management and strategic positioning. i4hi took a leading role in the strategic repositioning of the company, in a period where the LED and electronics revolution were changing the strategic landscape.
I4hi facilitated the implementation of the outsourcing strategy to South-East Asia, performed an add-on acquisition and restructured the organisation to focus on innovation and growth. In 2015, together with FW Thorpe (a leading lighting manufacturer in the UK), and management, i4hi bought out De Hoge Dennen. As part of the board of directors, i4hi continued to contribute to the European growth strategy of Lightronics as part of the FW Thorpe group. In 2021, i4hi sold its entire stake in Lightronics to FW Thorpe group
